Presentwho I am now
Good morning, I'm Mihir Kapoor, a UI and UX designer with four years at a fintech company in Mumbai. I work in Figma, run usability tests and hand designs over to developers.
Pastwhat I have done
Last year, many users were abandoning our loan application halfway. I interviewed eight of them and found they were confused by one long form. I split it into four short steps with a progress bar and tested the new version with ten users. Completion went up from thirty-eight to sixty-one percent. The developers shipped it exactly as designed, because I had sat with them from the start.
Futurewhy this role
I'd like to work in product design at a growth-stage startup, where I can do research and design together. Your onboarding flow is already good, and I'd enjoy improving it further. I can walk you through two case studies from my portfolio, one on research and one on design systems.
Short version
Three sentences, for when you're nervous.
I'm Mihir, a UI and UX designer with four years in fintech, working in Figma. I redesigned a loan application flow and raised completion from 38 to 61 percent. I'd like to join a product design team at a growth-stage startup.
3 things to include
A user problem
Start with what users struggled with. Design interviews are about problems, not pixels.
Your process in a line
Interviews, a new flow, a test with ten users: this sequence tells them you know the full cycle.
Developer handoff
Saying you sat with developers shows that your designs reach production intact.
2 things to avoid
Only talking about tools
Figma is assumed. Say what you decided with it.
Screens without a story
A pretty screen with no problem attached is hard to remember. Start from the user.
