3 mistakes Java developer resumes make

  1. Writing “Java” and stopping

Recruiters search for Spring Boot, Hibernate and microservices, not just the language. State your Java version, the frameworks you used and the database behind them, in your skills line and in your bullets.

  2. Duties with no scale

“Developed REST APIs” could describe anyone. Say what the service handled: requests per second, latency you cut, number of microservices, team size, how often you released.

  3. Starting every bullet with “Responsible for”

Service-company templates train people to write duty lists. Lead with what you shipped, name the tech, then the result. “Built a Spring Boot refund service that cut failures by 30%” beats three lines of duties.
