3 mistakes Python developer resumes make

  1. A “Python” skill with no framework

Hiring teams filter on Django, Flask or FastAPI first. Name your framework, your database and how you deployed, so it's clear you build backends and don't only write scripts.

  2. Tutorial projects

A to-do app, a Titanic notebook and a weather API sit on thousands of resumes. Replace one with something that solves a real problem, ships with tests and has a live link.

  3. No word on testing or deployment

If pytest, Docker and CI never appear, you look like someone who writes scripts. One line on how your code is tested and released moves you into the developer pile.
