3 mistakes mechanical engineer resumes make
Machines and software left unnamed
“Worked on CNC machines” could mean anything. Name them: Fanuc or Siemens controllers, VMC or lathe, and the CAD tools you used for drawings.
No output numbers
Plants measure everything, and so should your resume. Quote OEE, rejection rate, cycle time or savings: “cut rejection from 4% to 1.5%, saving about ₹6 lakh a year”.
Standards and training missing
IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Six Sigma, GD&T and NDT are the words quality heads search for. List your certifications and the audits you supported, with the year.
